I am entering my fifth year as a Head of Department for Computing and Business at Hitchin Girls' School and in that time have overseen significant change in the department while maintaining outstanding results in challenging circumstances. I work with Herts4Learning as a subject trainer for NQTs, have provided mentoring for trainee teachers and am a certified trainer for both WRAP and CEOP roles.
I have more recently taken on a whole school responsibility for e-Safety and working with a colleague from another Hitchin school, built a range of training sessions that were delivered to multiple stakeholders of the school based upon a whole school survey of Internet use with over 900 responses. In July 2017, I will continue this work by becoming a member of the school's safeguarding team. In addition to my professional role, I am also a staff governor and have a Masters degree in Education Leadership and Management.
Throughout my teaching career, I have shown a desire and willingness to work with my colleagues from a variety of different schools coaching them to better outcomes while understanding and working within their local context and the individual challenges of their school. In my experience, this process is both enjoyable and mutual beneficial to all parties.
